The PURITO Desk is conceived as a sculptural workspace where material honesty and architectural balance converge into a singular presence. Crafted from a recovered single slab of French oak and solid heartwood oak legs, the piece embraces the raw beauty of natural timber while preserving a deeply refined sense of proportion and restraint.
The tabletop is formed from one continuous oak slab, allowing the grain, tonal variations, and organic imperfections of the tree to remain uninterrupted across the entire surface. While one edge retains a precise straight line, the user-facing side follows a softer and more fluid contour, subtly shaped by the natural movement of the wood grain itself. This gentle curvature introduces a quiet intimacy to the piece, softening its monumental presence and creating a more human relationship between the object and its user.
The supporting structure is crafted from heart oak wood assembled while still slightly humid, allowing the material to continue evolving over time. As the wood gradually dries, new fissures and subtle cracks emerge naturally within the legs, giving the desk an ever-changing surface that reflects the passage of time and the living nature of the material.
