The OAXACA Table is conceived as a sculptural gathering piece where material depth, aged character, and structural craftsmanship converge into a quiet yet monumental presence. Rooted in a primitive architectural language, the table balances solidity and warmth through its generous proportions and carefully aged surfaces.
Its tabletop is crafted from light chocolate inked chestnut, composed of wide solid planks joined through an internal spline system — a structural detail recurrent throughout HAUSMANN tables. Rather than hiding the construction, these subtle separations between the boards reveal the rhythm and honesty of the assembly, allowing the surface to retain a natural sense of movement and individuality.
Supporting the top, the legs are built from solid oak heartwood, chosen for its expressive grain and dense character. Their substantial cylindrical form gives the table a grounded presence, while the intersecting stretchers introduce a quiet geometric tension beneath the surface. Traditional joinery remains visible throughout the structure, reinforcing the handcrafted nature of the piece and the intelligence behind its construction.
The dark chocolate finish, combined with the subtly burned lower sections of the legs, gives the table the atmosphere of an object shaped by time.
