Composed of two separate oak planes, the seat introduces a subtle opening through its center, allowing light to pass gently through the piece. At the core of the piece lies an intricate construction detail that quietly defines its character. The legs are joined to the seat through a custom double tenon system, conceived not only
for exceptional durability but also as an homage to traditional cabinetmaking techniques. Hidden within the structure, this layered joinery creates an unusually large gluing surface, reinforcing the bench while expressing a deep respect for longevity and craftsmanship. If disassembled, each leg would reveal a stepped double-tenon geometry — almost architectural in nature — transforming a purely functional element into a subtle sculptural gesture.
